"An unsanitary condition": Simpson Takeaway shut down after alleged hygiene breaches
The shop was closed for alleged offences under the Food Act.

Simpson locals will have fewer meal options this week after council officials shuttered the town's takeaway shop yesterday (April 7).
Corangamite Shire Council closed Simpson Takeaway at 2379 Lavers Hill-Cobden Road on Monday after inspectors found the premises in what they described as "an unsanitary condition."
The closure, enacted under Section 19 of the Food Act 1984, leaves the town with just two remaining food outlets.
According to the council, the business cannot prepare or sell food until it addresses hygiene concerns.
"The premises is prohibited from operating as a food business until compliance issues are resolved to the satisfaction of an authorised Council Environmental Health officer," the council statement reads.
Before its closure, Simpson Takeaway had garnered almost 100 five-star reviews on Google, with many praising the taste and serving sizes.
"Awesome range of food. The hot food was actually HOT, which rarely appears to happen in those sorts of shops these days. And finally, they had a real country caring attitude and will help in any way you require. Loved it!," reads one review.
Whether Simpson Takeaway makes a return will remain to be seen.
